few questions for a kickstart

1- What are the chances that the LCD parts would simply be too thick, there is no way to know in advance?
2- The "led-based" backlights, are there really LCD monitors out there with that technology. Or isn't that very recent stuff only? (read $$$)
3- Also what about the resolution of the LCD -- is 1024x768 an ok resolution for a 15 inch (9x12 active area) monitor? Sounds low to me. All the used 15 inch LCDs I have found so far are 1024x768.

Doin' the 3 posts thingy.

Seems like my situation is very typical, nothing cool to brag about.

A while back, I got a Graphire3  6x8 but quickly found out that I couldn't draw using that thing. How can you draw without looking at your hand? Cintiq seems the only solution.

Going through your site and looking at my options right now. Options like using old laptops (screen only+driver or full laptop) or getting a bigger Wacom (I mean suitable for 15 inch lcd) through ebay. Having a smaller "active area" than the monitor does not seem to be very useful. Well, you will have to go back and forth between the mouse and the pen if your menus are outside the active area and... I have only one right hand to hold the mouse or the pen.
