I had a Satellite R25 some years ago. This was the computer that got me off windows. ( At one point the HD corrupted and windows refused to boot. A co-worker helped me install ubuntu and I used a couple more years until the power supply pooped out.

I finally decided I wanted to use the tablet portion, because it was probably still working. I opened the computer to find an exotic serial number. Google then brought me here.

I think I had misunderstood as well, I do mean the "the tiny (as in small) FTDI-chip breakout board" as mentioned in this thread.

I just disassembled my Tablet Toshiba R25 to discover I had the same hardware. (WACOM SU-14W06E-01X)

I've ordered the power regulator and that tiny usb thing. Is there anything else that I need? Does anybody who has done this have an available detail shot on the wiring? I more or less follow this stuff but I'm more of a software/web developer guy than an electronics guy and I want to get as good an idea of what I'm supposed to do as possible. I feel like images would give me greater confidence I'm about to to do the right thing.

I'm also a little weak on what to do with the power regulator. The only Image I saw of it had it covered in tape, any tips here?
