I'm not a bot.  I'm gathering information to see if what I want to do with building a custom cintiq is feasable.

Hi everyone.  I was always planning to make a DIY Cintiq, but health issues have now made that impossible so I'm selling a couple of old tablets.  Is there a forum for that?  Is it okay to include a link to eBay or something?

Gryshnak

Edit: Okay, I just found the Trading Post thread...

OK..  I'm here..  Been lurking for awhile. BUT now it's build time.

I have a GD-1218-R and because I have just purchased a new monitor I know have a LG W2234S LCD to use.

I think I may be lucky with this one, looking at schematics and stuff it appears that both the Power board and driver board have long leads and FFC's..

Anyway now I've said hello I will make a build thread..  Smiley

ALSO...

Does anyone know of a UK stockist for the Teensy..  I can't seam to find any??   Sad

I had compiled a small list of teensy suppliers a while back in this post: http://forum.bongofish.co.uk/index.php?topic=1993.msg15457#msg15457

Hello everyone,   Cheesy
Another new member coming in. Had this site in my bookmarks for some time, I like all the DIY cintiq builds but didnt have the courage yet to start one.
I have collected some nice intuos 1 tablets (and different stylus pens) over the years and because of sticking with the intuos1 series I'm now stuck with a not 100% usable tablet in win7 (64bit), at least for the serial connection one's  (I have 2x GD-0405-R a GD-0912-R and a GD-1218-U  Grin )
So before even trying to attempt a cintiq conversion I want to mod the A4 tablet into a usb model and maybe a A5 model.
I have read some but not all threads and might as well ask some things  here:
- the teensy 2.0 is the only hardware I need for this mod ?
- does the teensy mod work with other than standard stylus devices? I read that in the beginning this was the case, but maybe not anymore (I also got an inking pen and some 4d mouses but I'm not going to use the last one)

And...thanks for having this board and all the work you guys already put in, much appreciated !

@Mich:  For a "serial" conversion, a Teensy 2.0 is really the only board required.  This does not account for basic soldering equipement, bunch of small wires (easily found from a network patch cable). Check out the conversion threads -- especially the GD-* ones. We now support most devices.
