Hey! This forum has been one of my most visited sites for the past month or so. The knowledge on here is incredible, and I will start up my Macbook build-log as soon as its gathers some pace! Cheers!

@mook06:  DIY projector forums! -- ah yes, we have some stuff fun in common. Like "unfolding" delicate LCDs circuitry and finding FFC extenders Smiley  Welcome! (and say hi to your sister).

Hi  Huh looks like the place to be
just looking for guidence got a Wacom Graphics Graphire Tablet A4  (12x9)and pen on ebay cheap, i have several 13.3 MacBooks with various problems,
one in particular wont recognise its built in keyboard but works ok from usb external keyboard,
i would like to marry the Wacom Graphics Graphire and the MacBook to make a modbook,
put the wacom pcb under the macbooks lcd,
i know the  Graphire  PCB is bigger than the MacBook so a new case will have to be built /old one adjusted
what are my options what should i watch out for
not afraid to experiment

welcome buddymarvelous,

The usual stuff that's repeated all over this forum. Maybe look for posts with Mac laptops to see how they dealt with stuff. One big question you are going to need to answer is: Are you going to revive the laptops or just pull out the screen to convert into a monitor (and to connect to another machine)? If the latter, then you will need a LVDS driver board.

Yes, you will need a bigger case for sure.  One reason is not only the wacom PCB, but also the unfolding of the LCD circuitry (extremely delicate). Compare the (precise) screen sizes vs. tablet active area using the Simtiq Planner. (measure the X and Y with a ruler to be sure, every mm counts). Typically you want the LCD to be equal or smaller. Else you will have unreachable areas. If you intend to start doing experiments, then start a new build thread on your own.

You want to check for jitter before going too deep into the build. Graphires is not the best for jitter, but this does not mean it will be the case with yours. The best is to try it out.  If you have a way to operate the tablet and the screen, then open them and stack them (with something in between to not short circuit them of course).  (Note: you do not need to have the tablet connected to the same laptop, you can check if the mouse cursor is stable from another machine).
