Hello everyone! I've been reading this forum very closely for the past few days, as i have a dead Asus Slate (bricked bios) and i'm very interested in converting it into an external cintiq like display.

Hopefully i'll be able to add some info to the forum/wiki as well, as there does not seem that there is any info available on this specific digitizer setup!

Hello mr-kek, welcome! Look around and gather as much info as you can and ask AAA many questions as you like.

Not a bot checking in! I've been lurking around here for awhile. I have a few old monitors and tablets that I'm hoping to turn into cintiqs, with the help of the pros around here. Grin

Hello Bongofish, just another guy  that's been lurking around the forums in preparation of a build. I've been following reading the successful builds (and some of the unsuccessful builds), and have settled on starting with an attempt at duplicating bumhee34's XL build in "budget-mode" for now.

I've also been looking over Aerendraca and Bumhee34's Retina-class builds and been wondering if a 4K build based on the ~15" 4K laptop panels would be worthwhile as a "non-budget-mode" build. (Would retrofitting an old penabled be a good idea for this?)

Rather than taking the multilayered acrylic approach, I may try using minimal materials by 3D-printing some supports for the acrylic layers. Advice along the way is welcome.

I probably won't actually post anything big for a couple weeks due to "life" but I'm definitely excited.

Nice to meet everyone!

Clarification, is it "Bong o' Fish" or "Bongo Fish"? I prefer assume the latter. Either way, weird forum name.

Hi procersapientiae, welcome!

Interesting idea to use a 4k panel and an old penabled tablet, I honestly have no idea if you could do this, I mean, I suppose in principle you can but someone would have to give it a go - *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*

3D printed minimal case huh, I like it. Can't wait to see how you get on!

Oh, and I think it's Bongo-Fish, at least I hope it is! Bong (of) Fish is grim.

Hi ... I have been visiting the forum very often recently .. trying to read as much as I can .. eventually I decided to become a member .. it's a nice place and I'm very happy to be a part of it.

Now I have a 6*8 inch tablet which i wish to use. I know the size is small compared to what is usual around here but I want to keep my first attempt small. I think I need a 10 inch screen with 4:3 aspect ratio but here is the problem. I can't find any of them locally. I tried ebay but didn't find anything (maybe I don't know how to search)

so is there such a screen or should I get a bigger tablet ?

I hope I can find help >>> thanks
