Bhrazz's opening gambit - Before taking things apart try the Wacom over the working screen to see if you get interference.
If you then get interference after its stripped that at least implies that it can be shielded.

By the way. I believe that this has never worked, maybe once. Almost every single monitor will have atleast one metal cover on it. Don't be discouraged. |

The point is not to put the monitor on top and hope it works.
The point is to expose the sensor to this monitor's specific interference by putting the sensor over the monitor and see if you get interference.

I've read this somewhere else. I get the idea of it but I don't actually see how it can be done. The wacom has shielding on the back to prevent this kind of interference so putting the tablet on top of the screen will not show you anything. Am I missing something?

Yep, if you don't get interference there either isn't any, or there is and it can be be sucessfully shielded.
Either is good.

Unless the interference comes from the LCD panel itself, in which case you're SOL.
You might be able to shield it, but not without shielding off your pen as well.

hi all
i've been lurking these boards for quite sometime. decided to make my own build when i got my hands on a 10" torisan/sanyo lcd from an old laptop (I was able to get a contoller for it for about $30 us), so i thought this would go well with my wacom graphire 4 6x8. since tablet and lcd are both 10".
i've tried bhrazz' opening gambit and had some weird results. i was wondering if you could help me with.
if i place the lcd directly above the tablet, it does not work at all. however, if i give it a 1" allowance to the right. it seems to work. I'll try to take pictures and video when i get home to give you a better picture.
any advice on what's happening?

Most likely the inverter or backlight is interfering. When you slide it, it is out of the way, so no interference.
