Hi everyone. I have a Intuos3 A5 (not wide) tablet. What do I do from here? I'm lost when it comes to the hardware. I've been researching and researching, but I just get more confused. I don't know the right screen/monitor, controller board, etc. and I don't know how to find this stuff out. All the things I've read get too complicated too quickly.

I also plan to take the information I compile and put it into the wiki (with my savior's permission of course).

Ideally, I'd like to have a voice chat with someone as I think it's the clearest way to communicate other than face to face, so if anyone is willing to do that, it would be great, but I think a chatroom can work too. Would anyone be up for this? I think we could do this at http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=bongofish. I'd be happy with a personal message or with a response in this post.

Thank you,
- angrysunshine

Controller boards: Check our wiki http://wiki.bongofish.co.uk/doku.php?id=bongofish:lvdsvendors -- you only go through that after you have a chosen a LCD Panel (or potential LCD). But you can always read it before hand.
Your A5 tablet, what is the active area size exactly?   Check http://wiki.bongofish.co.uk/doku.php?id=bongofish:tablets  - it may be listed there.

You need a LCD panel that is the same size or smaller.  There is no single source for LCDs (unless you are happy with paying a lot of money).  You have to hunt on ebay or other sites.

Jitter is always a potential issue and unless you find the exact same components (Wacom + LCD Panel) and know that it works because somebody else used them successfully.

I am often present on the #bongofish IRC channel, if you like this way better. You can always try to post there (have you tried it?) Note that the audience is much reduced and this won't be kept for later reference for the benefit of other people.
