Apparently NJYTouch is no longer selling the R.RM5451.

Do they have anything else as a substitute?

Yeah, how do you know they are not selling it?  They do not advertise all their inventory on the web. Also, a bit like Aarendraca is saying, they have so many variants, I cannot believe there isn't something to drive the LCD.  For example, I saw the M.NT68676.2A -- but as always, you have to email them with your LCD model number.

These boards are very common, and they go by several model #'s depending on the reseller. As an example, the NJY562C can easily be reprogrammed with the right driver for your particular build if you have a programming card. If you would like to send one to me with your LCD Panel #, I'd be happy to get it programmed for ya. Otherwise, several sellers both in the US and in China offer the R.RM5451 equivalent -- LCDParts.net in the US (You'll be paying nearly $100), and e-qstore on ebay are the ones that come to mind. Both are reputable, though e-qstore takes a month or more to arrive (no expedited shipping, shipped from China, but they did ship from their factory same day). As far as these controller boards go, if they look superficially similar, they probably are (aside from programming).

Hi friend,

Thank you for your enquiry!

1 That R.RM5451 board has stopped production. Is this R.RM3451 board OK for you?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/R-RM3451-VGA-LCD-Controller-Board-Reuse-Laptop-LCD-Panel-1920x1200-Repair-DIY-/271191221434?pt=US_Server_Boards&hash=item3f2441a4ba

Suitable inverter, LVDS cable and keypad will be included in the order. And we will program for you.

2 Suitable power adpater(12V, 4A) is required, you could order one from us too.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Adapter-Supply-UK-cord-plug-esp-our-LCD-controller-board-12V-4A-output-/370775385282?pt=Laptop_Adapters_Chargers&hash=item5653ef64c2

For combined shipping, you could share $2 discount.

Regards,
Maria

Tried ordering one today off eBay but noticed they were gone, spoke to them directly and was told that they are no longer stocking or producing them. However they had 2 left on Aliexpress, so I bought one there.

The only alternative they offered was the VGA-only version, which I did not want.

And you asked about that board specifically or about your LCD model?  Maybe they have other alternatives that is compatible?

I told them I have a LP150E05(A2)(K1) and the only alternative they offered was the VGA-only version (R.RM3451), which as I said I do not want.

However I'm just relaying the information I have. They're also all gone from Aliexpress now.

These boards should continue to be available through a few larger asian resellers. From what I've gathered after contacting a few sources, the manufacturer has increased the minimum order quantity and this has proven prohibitory for smaller firms. I haven't talked to NJYTouch, but I imagine they may start selling them again once they find a reseller. Conveniently, every reseller has different labels and numbers for the same model, because of course these things can never be easy. Alternatively, starting around May 21st, I'll be keeping a few in stock if you'd prefer to buy stateside.

Yeah I figured they were generic boards, but I found it a shame that NJYtouch aren't selling them through eBay any more. However I'm glad I managed to get one of Aliexpress, since I'm not sure of any other vendors.

How about a different seller on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDMI-DVI-VGA-Audio-Control-board-for-15inch-LTN150XB-LP150X09-1024-768-Lcd-panel-/170973904139?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ced6bd0b

Oh and it seems that this board (M.NT68676.2A) is also sold by njytouch on ebay too:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M-NT68676-2A-HDMI-DVI-VGA-AUDIO-LCD-LED-Controller-Board-LVDS-DIY-2048-1152-/271175654997?pt=US_Server_Boards&hash=item3f23541e55

Looks like this board would work with a 15" panels such as the LP150 too, plus you get DVI in aswell.

Hi!  I'm new here, just going through the steps to get started on my own build.

I just ordered a  5451 DVI/VGA LCD Controller from NJYtouch today.  I guess they did another run of them.

However. . .

I'd ordered a Hyundai-BOEhydis HV150UX1-100 LCD panel, (last one the supplier had!), and the woman in charge at NJYtouch had this to say when I ordered their controller board:

Hi,
Sorry to send you this email´╝î but we want to be honest..
We just got the reply from the customer,
He said the panel HV150UX1-100 can't work very well with R.RM5451.
There are some problems with its compatibility.
Do you have other panels for test?
Regards
Sarah

-Which is kind of depressing to start out with; and here I was thinking I'd gotten all the right bits for a build others had successfully done in the past.

So I'm wondering what's going on here, since the HV150UX1-100 has apparently worked before with their controller.  I'm thinking of going ahead and having them ship the board to me anyway and seeing what happens...  Maybe the customer who complained had some other sort of problem affecting his configuration.  Maybe I'm being overly wishful.  Whatever the case, my Hyundai-BOEhydis panel has shipped and I'll need something to drive it with.

Any thoughts?

Hi thatcomicsguy! Welcome.

Ok so I had a quick look at the datasheet for the HV150UX1-100 (http://lcd-screen.com.ua/data/pdf/BOE-HYDIS%20(Boe%20Hydis%20Technology%20Co.,%20Ltd.)/HV150UX1-100.pdf) and it appears that this panel has a native resolution of 1600x1200, but the maximum resolution of the R.RM5451 is only 1440x900 suggesting that this controller might might be able to drive the panel at a lower resolution apect 4:3, perhaps 1400x1050 (maybe) or 1280x1024, but because this is a lower resolution than natively supported this may be the reason for incompatability issues probably in relation to picture quality.

I think perhaps the njy2662 controller might be a better choice as it supports screens up to 1920x1080 (full HD) - see: http://www.njytouch.com/RM2662%20Controller%20Board%20.htm

I don't know if they have shipped it to you yet but I'd be tempted to swap my order, plus you get HDMI(including audio) aswell as DVI and VGA.

Thanks for the reply, Aerendraca.

I contacted NJYtouch and they said that sometimes the 5451 worked and other times not.  Their ad claims a max support resolution of 1920 x 1200. . .

Anyway, I just sent an email to them asking about the NJY2662.  I think there's enough time to change the order if that one will work better.

Cheers!

Just heard back from them:

Hi
For HV150UX1-100, R.RM5451 will be better than NJY2662.
We didn't test NJY2662 before.
R.RM5451 will be shipped.
Regards
Sarah

I could push for the other controller, but I'm more inclined to just go with the 5451 and see how it goes.  I'll report back in a few weeks.
