don't worry WEI,

i belive in your mearurement and in Drew's too Grin
surely the Intuos 3 technology is better then Intuos 1 or Ultrapad, and this reflects also on the value of proximity distance.

The tablet firmware has settings for a couple of different depths from the sensor.  Not that I can remember what they are right now . Roll Eyes

@Switz: did you measure from the sensor or from the dressed pad?

@Drew: do you know how to change these different values?

thanks to all... Vince

You can adjust all sorts of useful stuff Usong the UDCONFIG utility from the Wacom site.  There's a link to it in the "useful links" board.

You have to run it from DOS, I made up a boot floppy to run it.

Hi Drew,

i used UDCONFIG to change some settings of my Ultrapad and about the depth sensing distance it gives the choice of only two values: 8mm and 0mm Huh
my tablet is already setted at 8mm i tryed 0mm but when back in windows nothing was changed Huh
i'll do some further test Grin
in the meanwhile i'm bidding for an intuos I 12*18" Grin
bye... Vince

ther's some good soul that can show me  up the screen of the UDCONFIG with the original settings of his ultrapad?

thanks so much... Vince

Incredible.... from my naked intuos 3 A4 board, I have... 33 mm to the pen stroke... I've measured four times, and it's correct.
ps: I don't give cocaine to my wacom for breakfast, I promise!!

Depends. You could try to find a thinner monitor, use EL film (expensive and not necessarily bright enough but might be worth a try),  Polish the backlight slab down a bit.

Anyone else got any ideas?
