I should have mentioned that this is a LG PHILIPS LCD model: LP150X08 (A3)

Also, I did see that username: "da23ad" had success with this monitor in his build: A-TIC 15LX

The controller and inverter kit that he used is from an ebay seller in France.

I am hopeful that I can find a seller here in the US (preferably in California) to avoid the additional taxes and tariff. Anyone know of a good source?

I also found the "DVI VGA audio universal LCD panel LVDS controller board" sold by NJY5621 on ebay.

Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/DVI-VGA-audio-universal-LCD-panel-LVDS-controller-board-/280683880180?pt=COMP_EN_Networking_Components&hash=item415a101ef4#ht_7237wt_906

I am not certain if this is the right one or not. Awaiting a reply from the seller. I like the idea that it is a "universal controller" in case I ever decide to replace the screen that might make it easier to make changes or upgrades! Does anyone here have experience with this controller to know its quality? Also - how can I identify if this will work with my screen on my own?

More details about this LCD screen:

• Brand:  LG Philips
• Part Number:  LP150X08 (A3)
• Size   :  15"
• Resolution:  XGA (1024 x 768)
• Backlight:  1 CCFL
• Surface:  Matte
• Aspect Ratio:  Standard
• Description:  Thin-film transistor (TFT) Active-matrix Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
• Data Connector:  30 Pins

THANKS!

Sounds cool.

looking at the ebay ad: It's "universal" -- but the list of resolution is a bit limited. For example, my LCD is 1400x1050  6bit RGB (not listed). I do not see the HD, HD+ and FullHD resolutions (very popular amongst recent LCD Panels -- check our wiki page for a list of LCD resolution http://wiki.bongofish.co.uk/doku.php?id=bongofish:lcdresolutions )   This board is of course missing the cables et al.

The other alternative is to buy a much-more-universal board and the "programmer board" (of course, it is more expensive).   Depending on the capacity of the board (how fast it can drive pixels) it will cover a wide range of possibilities.

The seller is the most popular seller in here NYJTouch -- I assume you saw our wiki page on sellers http://wiki.bongofish.co.uk/doku.php?id=bongofish:lvdsvendors
