The "Simtiq Planner"   Smiley

Temporary location until I find a proper host for this:

Testing in Chrome and Firefox. Note: this will not work with IE6, IE7 or IE8 (yet) but should work in IE9 in theory.

This is a great planner tool, but one thing I'm realizing is that trying to match up the screen exactly might not be the best solution. If you match a screen 1:1 with the tablet you probably are going to need extension cords. Probably the best solution is getting a larger screen that's large enough so the cords can wrap around the tablet.

And then just deal with tweaking the active area/screen resolution to match.

Extension cords?  You mean the FFC extenders?   This depends on the LCD Panel model.  The LCD Panels that require such FFC extenders, when you leave the circuits as-is, it takes a fairly large portion of the screen. Not sure how this is usable really.  The FFC itself is often going near the middle and will most likely interfere as well.

Edit: Actually FCC's don't seem like a big deal, as long as you can find ones that match and are longer. Manually extending them seems sketchy though.

Most of the time, the "FFC" we are talking about are not even FFCs -- they are flex PCBs (often orange) that are shaped like an ffc at one end. Those are often only detacheable from one side. And then you need to extend it and this is where it gets complicated indeed (diy-beamer is not always responding and I do not know who else does this).

Gotcha, that makes more sense why people are concerned about them. I do get nervous anytime I have to move the main ribbon-board since that doesn't look replaceable at either side of those ribbons.
