I'm using the evergreen Dell 1503fp, and I'd like to use USB LED strips to light it.

I know nothing about electronics, and thus, I pose a simple question: Does anyone know if unplugging the CCFL tubes and wires from their board will damage the electronics of the board?

If so, is there any other way of disabling them or keeping them out of the way?

Thanks
