Well I got an iPad 3 LCD really cheap from AliExpress (30$, free shipping
) and a Intuos 3 A5 for 20€ so I thought why not build a cintiq clone?
I also bought the well-known abusemark iPad LCD to DP adapter board (28€) and then the waiting game begun.
After about 3 weeks I was the proud owner of a gorgeous little screen

And after a few nerve-wrecking minutes of screen-stripping
(431.2 KB. 1563x1226 - viewed 140 times.)
(417.62 KB. 1200x1063 - viewed 130 times.)
I got a working tablet \o/

I still have to cut the metal backplate to size to cool the LEDs as they get pretty hot relatively fast and to shield the electronics as I got some jitter on the top and bottom (more on the top where the electronics are and a bit on the bottom because of the backlight).
Next thing will be to disassemble the Wacom tablet and to find something suitable to put in front of the screen
