I keep trying to spend as little as possible.  I keep getting tripped up because I wont put up a little extra cash to get this going.  sigh.

too frugal to be cheap. ( or productive.)

Welcome to the price of stuff in the UK.

This is my first build so I'd feel kinda bad for gutting a newer tablet. There seem to be alot of 1212s floating around eBay as of late. I've seen a few go for $65 and under, but that's usually not including shipping or cables/pens. And a couple like that black 1218 linked earlier are as-is without any testing. I might throw out a couple bucks on a gamble I could salvage for parts later, but there's a limit on how much I'll toss at a potential TV dinner tray.  Tongue

Since my build needs to be Mac-compatible, I've been watching for GDs because they have an OS X driver. I'm debating if it's worth getting a cheaper serial and an adapter or splurging on a USB. I just know the tablet has to be in working condition when I get it. The monitor's a different story so I can probably offset the total cost there
