One of my ccfls broke while putting together my final assembly.  Now the whole lcd won't work.  I think the inverter board may be shorted out. The coil to the corresponding broken ccfl is quite hot. Crap!
Maybe this is easily fixable? - anyone know anything about this.

hi Donshole,

sorry to hear this, too few information to say something but in my monitor if also only one lamp is not connected it shut off after few seconds.
maybe it's time to try the LED way  Grin Grin

Some screens go into self-protect mode when a tube breaks, replace the ccfl and it will probably spring back into life again.

Thanks, for all your feedback.  The self protection thing is interesting.  Cos now the monitor doesn't even go on.  I've ordered new bulbs.  So, once again on hold.

Yeah I broke a CCF yesterday and the same happened, thankfully I had a spare from my new screen popped that in and off it went. No major worry don!
