I've just purchased a dell e151FP monitor for use in a simteq... Only problem is, the backlight inverter appears to be on it's way out.  How exactly would I go about hooking up a LED backlight? (E.G. #/type of LEDs to use, where can I get a pair of 12 inch long * 2 hole wide breadboards to solder the LEDs onto, how do I power them (would hooking them up with appropriate resistors to the + and - 5v lines for the tablet's USB cables work?), would I be better off tracking down a new inverter board, and if so, any idea where I can get one?)

I'm strictly at "tinkerer" level as far as electronics go, but I have a pair of captive electrical engineers to help Smiley

Thanks!

Depending on your budget there's these:

Or there's this screwdriver only solution ->

You can get LEDs with a built in resistor for a particular voltage. The trick is to get an array that works with the voltage that your montor uses. (this is a bit flexible, you can usually under/over volt components by a couple of volts without ill effects)

It would be worth looking throught this thread-> http://forum.bongofish.co.uk/index.php?topic=84.0
