I made this for our local bookshop to add to it's warhammer window displays. I've always wanted one, and always really liked the bolter as seen in the board game 'Space Crusade' so modelled mine on that - with the blade on the front.



Here's how it went together:

I was lucky enough to find a Spas12 (shotgun) BBgun which had a really big grip which I could use - necessary for warhammer since everything seems a little larger than life. Smiley

That saved me a lot of modelling headaches. The rest is card tubes and architects foamboard, 5mm and 12mm thick.



Here's the basic shape with the magazine:



..I added foil over some sections and used the widened foregrip from the shotgun, using car-filler to sculpt over the gap.



Next was decoration, and the box front from a 'pirates' megablocks set.



Then a basic coat of black spray paint.



... next the best bit - finishing and weathering.











..and after all that, a nice game of Zombies!!! (see final pic).
