or if you can remove the whole inverter/tube assembly without removeing anything else, then you cna often get the screen working fine without a backlight, and then make your own backlight with LEDs or whatever you want to try.  maybe you could do the first maglight backlight assemply.  or fireflies in a jar.

What ? Good news ! But, is 17" are all standard in the weight of tubes ?
I'm going to search for a broken screen nearby.

Thanks Drewid,  I put back together all the parts of the screen and i'm thinking of selling it in its unworking state. I saw on forum, guys that buy those kind of malfunction monitor.
I will get few money, but it will help me buying a 15" screen, less expensive.
So, finally, i'll be back sooner than i thought to get some help. Because this accident showed me that it is not simple as it might be.

Another thing that alert me, is that the backlight , plus the screen, was about 2 cm of depth !
Too big for a good activity of the wacom's sensor.

Anyway, i'm waiting for a new screen now Smiley
