I used to work at an animation house which closed recently. There are 7 12" square wacom digitizer II pads there (which I've been cleared to sell). There are only three pens though, in varying states of repair.

I checked the wacom site, and they no longer sell spare pens for these models. I've had some success using a pen from a pen-partner tablet on these digitizers though.

Would these old pads be useful to anyone here?? I'm in the UK.

Yes!

£25 for pad and pen, £15 for just the pad. This includes the power adapter and serial cables but not postage - which I'll have to figure out. There are three pens, but I'll have to check each one, and each pad, to make sure they're functional.

Spare pens are available from Wacom US I think, and coolgraphicstuff

I'll post again (probably tomorrow) with details and photos of each pad - rated best to worst according to condition and 'completeness'.

These pads are Old Skool digitizer II models, serial port based and powered by an adapter with a two-pin plug on the end.

Model number is UD-1212-R.

Here they are.

I've brought them all home to test each lot of pad/pen/cables to group together complete sets. Some are really grubby, so I'll have to get my marigolds out. Sad

Yeah!

I would also be interested in 1 or 2 (to be on the safe side) + 1 pen.

I'll nab a penless one seeing as I have a spare.

Cool!

I just checked with UK Royal Mail and postage for each tablet (2.5kg) is around £8.70 for recorded delivery - I'll confirm that once I get the first one wrapped and boxed up. I just have to find a source for boxes big enough to pack them in.

I'll get back to those requiring overseas postage as soon as I can get to a courier.

Why buy today what you could build tomorrow?

If there are any left, I might be interested in picking one up. I'm in the US of A though, so shipping costs may be too prohibitively high.

Cheers mate,

No probs AndreZX, I'll add you to the list of overseas enquiries I'm making at the post office in the morning.

I'd welcome any suggestions for payment options, but since I'm selling these on behalf of 'Island Studios' (a movie studio here on the Isle of Man) I'd ideally like a cheque payable to Island Studios. When I receive the cheque, I'll post out the tablet.... Unless anyone has a better idea?

I have a paypal account if people would rather I use that.

Either way we're going to have to get around the 'trust' issues implicit in such transactions.

Okay, I've just got back from the Post Office.

UK special next-day delivery = £9.25

Netherlands (2-3 days) = £24.10

US (two weeks) = £40.30

Australia airmail (8-12 days) =£48.50

Any extra weight due to packaging, I will cover any additional postage.

I've now just got to find boxes big and strong enough to pack them in (should have some info this afternoon).

So far - 5 are taken - so there's 2 left!

[UPDATE] 6 taken - 1 left (no pens left)

Of course - that's if everyone actually goes through, if there are any non-takers I'll put the tablets back in this thread.
